Not always, but often. A dedicated circuit is required for the charger, and if your switchboard is old or at capacity, an upgrade may be needed. We assess this during the free quote and can bundle both jobs.
For most households, a 7.2kW single-phase Level 2 charger is ideal, it adds around 40–50 km of range per hour and works with all EVs sold in Australia. If you have three-phase power, a 22kW charger can fully charge most EVs in 2–3 hours.
